Poor Bambi...

Friday night we decided to go out to dinner with Adam's family. We went to dinner at Asian Buffet.  It was delicious!  Then they brought out the check and the fortune cookies to go with it.  All of the cookies' fortunes were those dumb ones like "You look pretty".  But ONE was an actual fortune and it is the one that I got.  It read "A Hazard seen is half avoided".

On the way home we decided to go on SR73 to read a backhoe for hire phone number.  Otherwise we might have gone on Pony Express the whole way.  We were just driving along and were about a mile from the Eagle Mountain Blvd when out of nowhere I hear Adam say, "Oh crap..." and then a deer smacked into the driver side of our car.  It seemed like it was in slow motion.  We both saw the head kind of bounce up and smack the windshield.  We both felt so bad.  I looked back at Brody and he looked up from his movie like, "What just happened?" and then went right back to watching his show.  Mason kept sleeping until we got out of the car (Adam had to climb over my seat because his side wouldn't open up).

We had a couple cars stop to see that we were all okay.  One family stayed with us until the Sherriff arrived.  But as we waited that family went to check the deer.  Turns out that she was in the middle of the road still from the collision, but she was still breathing.  So SAD!  As they were gone, Adam and I started to get really cold.  Adam opened the trunk to see if we had anything, and there were our winter coats, laid out like they were waiting for us to find them.  It was insane!

We eventually made it home and got our claim in to the insurance company.  They have since come and pre-appraised our damage to over $3000!  They will come to tow our car tomorrow morning and we will hopefully have it back in about a week!

Really as we look back we saw so many little miracles.  1) Our car needed fixing up, yet we didn't have money to pour into it, this is a small solution to that. 2) We decided to go SR73. 3) The deer hit the driver side, but the damage miraculously stops right at the back driver door where Brody was sitting. 4) Our winter coats were waiting for us in the trunk (we don't remember the last time we used them). 5) We got home just fine and are being taken care of. 6) Our deductible (for comprehension, NOT collision) is only $100!!

We were definitely being watched over.  I know that it is due to our diligence in follow the commandments!  Heavenly Father works in miraculous ways!  We still feel bad for the poor deer though.  It doesn't help that it is now just sitting on the side of the road.

Here are some pics of the car:

93 Years!!!

This past Thursday was my Grandma Ruth's 93rd Birthday!  We went up to a little party/gathering to celebrate with her and other family members.  It was a nice little evening.  We realized that she hadn't even met Mason yet, so it was good to let her see him.  We  had some food and dessert and chatted with everyone.

It was fun to chat with family that we haven't seen for awhile.

You could tell that Grandma was thrilled to have everyone there.

Family Pass of all Passes...

This year we decided to buy the "Pass of all Passes" to Seven Peaks in Provo.  This pass will be great during the Summer season, but that's not all.  It also includes the Trafalga fun centers!!!  So we get to use it throughout the whole calendar year, and get more than our money's worth!  The Trafalga fun centers include unlimited miniature golf, batting cages, go karts, merry-go-round, and lots of little kid roller coaster and amusement park rides!!! This pass also gets us into the Owlz baseball games and the Flash basketball games.  Too bad the Flash's season is almost over.  We'll have to take advantage of it next year!  One of our good friend's husband plays for them, so it'll be super fun to go support him!

We went to Trafalga for a fun family night this past Monday.  It was a lot of fun!  We played in the kiddie play area for awhile and then tried to miniature golf in the black light golf area... but Mason started wailing (he was hungry), so our golf got cut way short.  We ate some food and then Adam and I raced the rock climbing wall... which I remember used to be easier for me, but this one kicked my butt!  Adam got higher than me, and when I told him that I was done already, he let go too. Nicole and Naudia came so they stayed with the boys while we did the rock wall.

Here are a few pictures of our fun night.
Brody wouldn't come down the slide so we sent Naudia up to help him.

This little girl asked Brody if he would be her friend.

Naudia coming down the slide.

Brody wanted to miniature bowl so badly, but we found out the bowling cost more money.

I am higher than Adam here... but he really was doing better than me.

It was a fun night.
